Hi all

Nearly forgot all about the reminder email this time so sorry it is late. We are attending the usual markets this weekend with just one addition on Sat - the Christmas Fayre at Pontyclun. It's Rhiwbina on Friday morning, Usk on Sat and Riverside on Sunday with the growing range of meat on offer. Aberdeen Angus beef, South Wales Mountain lamb, Welsh pork and a few chickens alongside pies and faggots.

It's still not too late for your Christmas orders - but please order soon to avoid disappointment.

It's a quieter time on the farm with the daily chores of feeding, strawing down the sheds and checking the livestock taking up much of the day light hours. It is a struggle to fit in other jobs - as soon as you get organised it's getting dark and evening feeding becomes urgent. In theory, it gives lots of time for catching up on indoor jobs but that doesn't ever seem to happen - I still need to have a massive tidy up in the house !!

The most newsworthy item is our small wind turbine is actually happening. The ground work contractors arrived yesterday and dug a big hole for the foundations; the concrete should flow today or Fri then we have to wait a while for that to harden before the turbine is erected. It's only a small one for our own use - I must get au fait with the technical detail so that I can sound a little more intelligent ......
